On December 19,1960, the mid-air collision of a United Airlines jet with a smaller commuter plane caused the wreckage of this United Airlines jet on Seventh Avenue and Sterling Place. It was believed that the pilot attempted to land the plane in Prospect Park. Today all that is left is a vacant lot and a rebuilt funeral parlor.
